Seventy participants from Bangladesh, Tanzania, Pakistan and Brazil attended
the "ORT Mobilization and Media" Conference held in
Dhaka, Bangladesh from August 30 - September 3, 1994. They represented
governments, media, NGOs, Scouts, Oral Rehydration Salt (ORS)
producers and the medical profession and health workers. Their aim: to
create a global movement to reach the goal of 80 percent
use of Oral Rehydration Therapy (ORT) in the treatment
of diarrhoea1 diseases by the end of 1995.
